拥有双向进气脉管制冷机等数十项发明,发表论文数十篇,其中,所发表的双向进气的论文Shaowei Zhu, Peiyi Wu and Zhongqi Chen, Double inlet pulse tube refrigerator-an important improvement, Cryogenics, Vol. 30, 1990, pp514-520已被引用超过100次,该结构的脉管制冷机被认为是第三代脉管制冷机,引发了脉管制冷机的研究热潮,加速了脉管制冷机的发展,解决了空间用低温制冷机的可靠性低的技术瓶颈。
