On March 19th, Prof. Hedong Zhang and Dr. Gang Zeng, deputy director of the China Center for International Exchange of Nagoya University, visited the School of Mechanical Engineering (SME). Mr. Musheng Song, secretary of the Party Committee of SME, Prof. Junying Min, vice dean of SME, Prof. Chuanmin Zhu, deputy director of Experimental Center, Associate Prof. Haisheng Xia, Dr. Zhicheng Yuan, Assistant Prof. Bingcong Jian and other faculty representatives were present.
During the exchange meeting, Mr. Musheng Song extended a warm welcome to the delegation. Both sides provided an overview of their international cooperation efforts and discussed potential collaborations in joint talent cultivation, faculty members, and research in area such as wearable robotics and life and health monitoring. The two parties expressed their hope that this visit would serve as a platform to leverage their respective each strengths and further promote Sino-Japanese cooperation in the field of mechanical engineering.
As part of the visit, Prof. Hedong Zhang delivered a lecture titled “Extending Lifespan with Nanotechnology and IT: From Tribology to Healthcare”, which introduced the application of tribology in material surface interactions, the measurement methods for pulse waveforms, and the technological advancements in converting uncalibrated sensor output signals into blood pressure data.
Additionally, the delegation visited the Intelligent Wearable Robotics Laboratory of SME and the Engineering Practice Center. They highly praised the research achievements in unmanned systems, wearable robotics, and other related fields, and expressed a strong desire for future in-depth collaboration with SME in these areas.
The visit of the Nagoya University delegation expands SME's international cooperation network, laying a strong foundation for collaboration between the two parties in joint talent cultivation, faculty members, and scientific research, which also contributes to the higher-level Sino-Japanese cooperation in the field of mechanical engineering.
